The association won a second place in the 1st Nationwide Lion Show Championship founded less than 1 year. A year later, they went abroad and won the first place in Paris National Lions Competition. In the following one year, they participated in the "Huang Feihong Cup" and won the" Lion King" title and "Best Music Award ". They also won the first price in the National Lion Festival which was also the 2nd National North and South Competition. They also represented China to participate the 3rd Shenzhen National Lion Tournament and won the excellence award. In the same year, Shakeng village was awarded the title "the Township of National Folk Art" by the Guangdong cultural department.
