Dongchong Large Pancake was popular at the southeast of Panyu, in late Ming Dynasty. It was said that the pancake was secretly made with name of Pan Yu, which later experienced ups and downs, and being passed down until now. With its deserved reputation, it is large, looks golden, taste sweet but not greasy. Because it is large and round, as well as looks like a full moon, which implies the meaning of perfect conjugal bliss, local people take it as a gift for the guests when people hold a wedding party, visit relatives, or have the Spring Festival or celebrate other holidays.
